Easy slide converter : Innovative Technology 35mm Negative and Slide Converter to PC

I bought this slide converter after researching every machine I could possibly find and pricing digitizing my old slides at a variety of camera services. It was on sale so I decided to try it - I had 15 days to get it to work or return to store. I fumbled with the install - hard to tell if it was me or not - but finally got it all to work. When I plug in the USB cable my PhotoImpression Viewer automatically senses a scanner or camera and I can just select the 35mm scanner. The machine works well, instantly showing the slide or negative. I can edit or repair any faults in the pictures and save for later use. I have been wanting a way to conserve old slides that I and my mother have had to put on CDs in order to pass the family pics onto my grandsons. I was thrilled with this machine. I had tried using small slide viewers and taking pics with my digital camera and found that was best in a dark room, so I figured a slide in a small black box would work and 5megapixels is quite sufficient for the conversions. I can't imagine that anything more expensive would work any better since it amounts to having a small dark room with a light source that transfers the pictures to the computer.

Poor Brightness adjustment : Veho VFS-008 Smartfix Scan to SD Stand Alone Slide and Negative Scanner (35mm & 110mm)

Purchased to scan approximately 1600 110 negatives from J&R. Scanner is fairly well built and scans fine with one exception, all my scans come out rather dark requiring
I pull every single scan into provided software to lighten up. Incredibly tedious. Otherwise the color and contrast and detail are very good. Emailed Veho asking if way
to change the setpoint that scanner uses to adjust brightness and received no answer to either email. Also emailed J&R asking for suggestions or a way to batch adjust the scanned files
and received no response other than a automated email saying they would contact me. Unless you already plan on adjusting every picture you scan which I really did not need to, I would
avoid this unit. My experience is that both seller and manufacturer have poor customer service.

This wireless printer has an easy to use pop up display that is attractive and eay to follow.It is a stylish unit and can be used from anywhere in the house.I have always liked Canon color quality,and with this very cool unit,there is no exception.Connecting it to my several computers was a snap,and everyone comments on the speed and quality of the photo printing.I love it's Scanning ,and like the printing it has very high dpi resolution choices. I use this unit for slide scanning and negative editing as well. Canon has Built a True Gem : Canon PIXMA MG8120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-in-One Printer (4504B002)

Let me start out by saying what's not good about this all in one printer. The tray only holds fifty copies or so. You can only print one envelope at a time. And my aging HP all in one prints faster.

The above being said, I love this printer. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. The colors are eye popping, every bit as good as you'd get if you were looking at photos developed from film. I can't praise the quality enough. Canon has built a true gem here.

Wireless, who cares? Slow printing, who cares? Anyway, it's not that slow, besides I have a laser printer for printing text. I don't even care that it's a beautiful looking piece of electronic kit. It could be ugly as all get out and I'd love it to death. Results, really, that's all that matters in the end.

As a bonus, this all in one excels as a scanner, is very quiet, accepts compact flash so you can print without going to your computer, doesn't jam (at least I haven't experienced one yet) and it looks like something Darth Vader would own.

So, yes there are a few negs with this printer, but holy moly, the pictures are so darned wonderful looking, so true to life. I'll say it again, results, that's what matters with a photo printer and this one delivers in spades.

I won't repeat the points in all the other good reviews. They're spot on. My favorite features of this scanner:

1) Very slim, stores away easily.
2) Draws power from the USB port on my PC. No adapter to deal with.
3) The multipage PDF option. Perfect for scanning all my tax docs before they go off to the accountant. I just scan and scan, and it makes a single pdf with a page for each scan.

I have boxes of old photos and negatives to scan and many of the older photos have sime discoloration so I bought this to try out. It does capture a good quality image from the negative and converts images pretty quickly. The film holder does seem a bit flimsy though so I have to be gentle when using it which can slow up the process, but I don't have any fixed deadline to finish either.
