Create digital images, movies or copies of your 35mm slides, negatives, transparency strips, black & white film, 35mm microfilm with your digital camera.  This slide copier screws onto the end of the camera lens or lens adapter -- just like a filter -- allowing the camera to capture digital images of traditional 35mm slides.

NOTE: No adapters are included with this copier. Your camera must accept threaded devices to use this copier; if your camera or adapter accepts threaded devices, but the size is not 52mm, you will need additional adapter(s) and/or stepping ring(s) that provide standard 52mm threads.

This copier includes, and is precisely integrated with, a professional quality, high definition, 52mm +10 diopter Macro Close-Up Lens. This lens can be removed from the copier and used separately on your camera for stunning macro close-up photography.

Depending upon your camera's zoom range, the image of a slide will completely fill the frame at about 100mm zoom, or zoom over 100mm and trim or crop the image as desired. Confine SLR (removable lens) cameras to approximately 80-120mm range for best results.

You can make prints from the resulting digital images.

NEGATIVE CARRIER:

Velcro tabs (included) are necessary to install as spacers onto the negative carrier when using this carrier in combination with this newer model Pro slide copier. These Velcro tabs are included - light assembly required.

This carrier enables copying from un-mounted 35mm negative, transparency strips, black and white film, even 35mm microfilm (will not directly handle COMIC oriented microfilm).

Please make sure that your particular camera, image editing software, or photo processor is capable of converting a negative image into a positive image if this is your goal for the negative carrier. The slide copier and negative carrier device will not do this conversion for you.

3000f review : Canon CanoScan 3000F Scanner

I've always been a big fan of Canon's scanners, but the Canoscan 3000f really let me down. I've been using the Canoscan n1240u and have always liked the great colors and vivid scans. I decided to upgrade to the new 3000f, manily because it will scan negatives and slides. Unfortunately, the reproduction quality on these types of scans are not very good. The color reproduction is very poor and the image quality, even at extremely high resolutions is not as true as it is on some of the less expensive Canon scanners. Even after having spent a lot of time working with various settings and options in the scanning software, the quality was still not as good as I would like to have seen. Hopefully Canon will get these problems fixed with their next line of film & photographic scanners.

• If you have special text needs, don't worry. The IRISPen can recognize alphanumeric characters, numeric data, special characters, mathematical symbols, currency symbols, and much more. The IRISPen also reads virtually any font, in a wide variety of styles and point sizes (from 8 to 20 points), as well as formatting elements, such as vertical lines, separating table cells. The scanner can even scan logos, signatures, and other small graphics.
• The scanner software is easily configured. You can assign key board shortcuts and follow the intuitive smart wizard for the quickest and easiest way of defining your settings. It proposes a series of templates with pre-defined settings means for the reading of certain types of data: text, text from columns, numeric tables, etc. These templates can be either used as such, or modified to fit more particular needs.
• Once connected, your options for the destination of your scanning is virtually unlimited. You can scan your text directly into Microsoft Excel or Word, into text files, emails--you name it. If you can type in it, the IRISPen will let you scan into it.
• While the speed will vary according to usage, the IRISPen can scan up to 3.15 inches per second. You simply slide the "pen" tip across your text, just as you would a highlighter, and the text is scanned directly into the application of your choice. Wide Software and Hardware Compatibility The IRISPen doesn't care if you're a Mac or PC user. It's compatible with practically any platform you use. The pen connects directly into the USB port of a PC, notebook, Tablet PC or Macintosh computer.
